UCampus is a growing network of hyper-local websites targeting college students at different schools across the nation. Each website allows students to quickly access important on and off campus information and resources, everything from reminders about school deadlines to open restaurants and current specials. UCampus allows students a better way to connect to their school and city.

What is a Local Author?

The Local Author position is an upgraded user role that allows a student special privileges regarding posting media to the UCampus network. Authors have access to post a variety of online media to their UCampus site: links, articles, quotes, pictures, polls, and videos. Most importantly, we view our platform as an unofficial alternative to official school sponsored websites. Local authors have the freedom to express themselves how they choose.

Who are we looking for?

We're not necessarily looking for professional writers; we're just looking for creative, intelligent students that are passionate about writing about their school, their city, and subjects they find interesting. Characteristics include:

• Current student
• Well-written, responsible, and professional
• Capable of providing unique content and commentary
• Passionate about making a difference at their school and in their city

What are the job specifics?

UCampus Local Authors work on their own time and contribute content to the site only when they want; there is no required amount of work! Authors are free (and encouraged) to write creative and engaging posts and have the freedom to express themselves however they want (within our very basic editorial guidelines). Job specifics include:

• No required contributions; work on your own time
• Experience and training working with new forms of online media
• Cash benefits for content featured across the entire UCampus network
• Great experience working with a growing startup and writing for a large audience
